After Winter Hibernation

Finally, a new post(lately we have been posting more of our pictures on facebook). I want to share some photos of the "main event" of our winter - Crystal and Aaron's wedding. This brings back wonderful memories of a very special day.

January 2 was a sunny, cold and windy day in the Shenandoah valley. The wedding took place at Weavers Mennonite church in Harrisonburg. Some pictures were taken outside before the ceremony. The wedding colors were light grey, black and purple. Julie and her daughters, Tati and Micah were able to come home for the wedding.

Eventful Months

Just before we left, Crystal and Aaron (Martin) announced their engagement. We are planning a January 2, 2010 wedding. In the photo below they are signing up for a bridal registry at Kohl's.
We are back from visiting Julie, Alex and children in Bolivia, South America. We had a nice visit and were introduced to our newest grandchild, Cristian. The Kozel's decided to proceed with adoption while we were there. They have been caring for him the past 7 months since he was released from the hospital (born two months premature). We are delighted to have a grandson in addition to granddaughters Tatiana and Micah. It was very special for us to be there in the judges chambers when they were awarded custody.

Isaiah 53:6-9 Illustration

Our Lenten theme for this Sunday was Silence. I painted during most of the morning service. The scripture was Isaiah 53:6-9. As you scroll through the photos you will see the progression from start to conclusion. We served communion from the table in the foreground. I used cloth in the colors of royalty and the blood and had a glass cylinder with thorn branches on the table as well.

A lot of Hot Air

This balloon floated past this morning as we were leaving for church. So colorful!

Fireplace Enclosure

I am so proud of my man for making these stylish fireplace doors. We've waited a lot of years for them. This was one of my Christmas gifts. Nice job, Mark!!!
