Grandma's gettin ready

The baby quilt is stitched and ready to send to Bolivia with aunt Crystal. I used photo shop to disguise the blanket so it's more of a surprise. We're getting eager for our new little granddaughter's arrival! Due date is August 15.

Red at Night...

This summer we've been having incredible sunsets. Here's proof.

Justin, these are for you.

New Look in the Garage

You know how one project leads to another? Well.....we decided to repaint the garage after Justin did such a good job on the exterior doors. Crystal and I choose a light brown color that reminds us of chocolate milk. Have a look at the new garage.

Springfield Antique Extravaganza!

Ingredients for a fun-filled day of shopping=three ladies, one Toyota pick-up, a beautiful summer Saturday and a trip to Springfield, Ohio. Sheryl Kooker, Crystal, and I left at 6 am, traveled in to Springfield, shopped from 8:30 am- 4:00 pm, loaded up our finds and then hopped back in the truck to return home. We stopped in Columbus for supper at Applebees then parked our loaded vehicle (the Beverly Hillbillies) in the parking lot of Sofa Express while we went inside to take a peek. Our trip home went quickly and soon we were unloading our goods. What a fun and satisfying day. A little sun-burned, a little less money in our wallet and lots of good memories! Any takers for next year?

This was Crystal's first trip to the Extravaganza.
You never know what you will find at a flea market!

Thanks, Bruce, for the use of the truck!

Finally a new post and new paint on our doors

It's been nearly a month since we've posted. We've been busy and haven't taken as many photos.I'm still working at Central through the summer months.

Justin returned home from Spain, was here a week, had his wisdom teeth pulled, and then decided to take a summer job at Camp Friedenswald in Michigan. Before he left we hired him to do some painting. He painted all the exterior doors and garage door. He did a great job and we love the new color. Check it out- it beats the forrest green color that we had before.

Crystal's friend Aaron came to visit. It was fun to have him here. I'll include a few images from a photo shot. Crystal our "Wedding Singer"has been singing at weddings the past two weekends. One in Goshen and one in Dover, Delaware. Karen and Crystal had a great road trip which included meeting new people (hello Yoders!), a short afternoon at the beach and outlet shopping.

We have been working on a new garden arrangement, making our garden space about 1/3 the size it was before. We moved our fence and constructed three raised beds. That's taken time on weekends and evenings. We hope to win the battle with weeds, grass and thistles(why did Adam and Eve sin?). We're looking forward to fresh tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, squash and peppers!

That's all for now.

Memorial Day Picnic

We enjoyed having Mom and Dad here for a short visit. I made this meal to celebrate the holiday and for Mother's Day(past) and Father's Day coming up. It was fun to make and grill the Sirloin Kabobs and other food for the evening. The weather was perfect for an evening outside.

We decided we'd like to have every Monday off!

Our honored guests.
Yum, corn on the cob!

We sat around the campfire for awhile in the evening. Always fun to play with the fire.
