Micah walking.

A New Kitchen for Casa Paetkau

The kitchen BEFORE with two small shelves and some storage below the counter.

Mark had a lot of help along the way!

He made two drawers and thirteen cabinet doors to cover the shelf units.
The project was completed, however, I am not allowed to show the final AFTER photo because Julie wants to unveil it on her blog. This is a glimpse of the end product. NICE JOB, Mark!

Way, Way down South - Bolivia

An hour at the sand dunes.

Micah....wow this is one big sandbox!

We carried a picnic lunch and towels up the dunes to discover that the sand had shifted and there was no longer a lake. About 10 minutes later we noticed a dark cloud coming our way. We made it to the jeep before the rain began. It was great to have 4 wheel drive. We pulled another vehicle out of the sand as we were leaving.

Precious! It was HOT almost everyday. Micah would start the day wearing clothes and til the end of the day, just a diaper.

One of the rare times in the hammock. She likes to be on the go.

Papi Grande and his little gals. Priceless!

Julie's bird, Lorito.

All smiles...maybe even Laurito.

Windy day (every day)!

School work. Tati loves pre-kinder!

More smiles.

This is a familiar scene for Micah. She is doing the finger point, is holding a doll baby and sitting in her favorite chair.

The cat is quite interested in her bagel.

Grandma(camera ready) and Micah on a hot day.

Did that hat keep the sun off your face, Mark?

Cornhuskers

Thanks, guys (and Sandra) for your help husking corn! We did 12 dozen on Saturday.

The ears were filled out nicely and we froze 35 pints to enjoy this winter.

Brotherhood in Alaska

Mark spent a week traveling with his six brothers in Alaska.

Sharing a river with a Grizzly. Plenty of fish for all.

Some of their salmon catch.

Beautiful vistas.

The brotherhood. From left: Dallas, Roy, Glenn, Elam, Richard, Steve, Mark.

The brother mobile - camper they rented for the week.

They each brought home 40 pounds of fish. YUM! Not bad for guys who really wouldn't call themselves fishermen.

A Boot in August - not so nice

A quick step out the front door resulted in a rolled foot, a broken bone (in the foot),crutches and a lovely boot for Karen :( One month of this; it's been a few days now and I'm anticipating that August will be a LONG month! BIGFOOT does exist!!
